A car AUX - IN or input is a socket that allows you to connect an iPod or mp3 player to your car stereo. These inputs look like standard headphone sockets and are now fitted to many more recent car models. In most vehicles they are located in the stereo unit, centre console, glovebox or armrest of the car. The cars shown on our compatibility list have aux inputs fitted as standard. Please note that the list may not be comprehensive as many manufacturers are now fitting more models with the inputs. The best way to find out if your car is suitable is to look for an input.
If your car has an aux input our standard car AUX-IN cable is a great way to connect your iPod to your car stereo. The item is a best seller on amazon UK as you can see from the reviews. To use it you simply plug one end into your iPod / mp3 player and the other end into your car's AUX socket. Then you place your stereo into AUX mode and click play on your device. This will then allow you to play your music through your car speakers in excellent quality. Our cables come with a handy set of instructions with tips to get the best sound quality from your product.
Below you can see an example of an aux input from a bmw 5 series.

Some cars do have a different aux input with two inputs. These are only really found on some peugeot and renault models and they require an RCA aux input cable. These are available from here.
